FOOD DOES NOT STOP YOU FROM “MAKING GAINS”
… on the contrary, the only thing that stops you from getting results is not being able to put in the required amount of work necessary to burn the number of calories needed to get the results you desire. In this blog, we would study four different categories of people:
- People who want to lose weight
- People who want to gain muscle
- People who want to be strong
- People who want to burn fat and gain muscle
- PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT
Suppose someone’s goal is to lose weight because they are probably fat, maybe obese, stigmatized or not feeling healthy in general. What will happen if this person does not understand how food works in relation to training and they think it would be advisable to just train as hard as possible hoping that God will answer their prayers? Just as making money is a skill, being successful at something is not luck. If an individual wants to lose weight and the number of calories consumed per day is not significantly less that what is burnt during workouts and other daily activities combined, then the goal of losing weight might be a farfetched dream.
- PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GAIN MUSCLE
It is easy to put on weight or lose weight by eating either more less food, however building muscle, especially the visible, defined, toned and mature-looking type is extremely difficult and requires dedication, commitment, patience and consistency. Furthermore, the number of calories consumed must have a specific relation to the training regimen, and this could mean more or less calories depending on the desired results. In this category, other factors like the time of the day at which one eats, interval between meals, and rest play critical roles.
- PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE STRONG
In this category, the most work needs to be done with excess food consumption. If one aims to be strong like Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw and other strongmen and women, it is advisable to frequently consume as much food as possible to grow bigger at a faster pace and fuel the body regularly to do the work which has to be done during training. In this category, “eating is making gains.” Everything and anything counts.
- PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BURN FAT AND GAIN MUSCLE
This category is the most complicated of them all and has many other factors involved than just food alone. It is an “advance level” of category B above. This method is mostly practiced by high level professional athletes who need to stay lean in order to move the body easily, and at the same time gain or maintain a decent amount muscle to do rigorous training activities. Despite the complexness of this category, it must be mentioned that the type of food consumed still doesn’t impact any desired results. Proof of the later, are top tier athletes like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Chad Johnson who are heavy “burger eaters.”
Now, that we have analyzed all the different categories and have found out that the type of food we eat plays a minor role in the achievement of our desired fitness goals, it would be best to inform you that Fit Mensa has experienced trainers who offer guidance on fitness training and tips on nutrition.
